ALPHA

Alpha at Hastings United Methodist:

The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner over 10, thought-provoking weekly sessions on Sunday Evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. ( Childcare is offered) . It's low key, friendly and fun.  Alpha as been offered at many United Methodist Churches including the churches that Pastor Chris ( North Branch United Methodist ) and John Mitchem ( Parker United Methodist ) have served in the past.  They both feel that this is the correct time to offer Alpha again at HUMC.

Alpha Basics

Here at HUMC , the Alpha course consists of a series of talks presented by DVD addressing key issues relating to the Christian faith.  Our Classes are led by Jeff Davis, Chris Nelson, Dan Alsdurf and John Mitchem

• Light Desert There is a light desert  together at the beginning of each session which gives people a chance to get to know each other.

• Talk: After each talk we divide into small groups to discuss the topic of the evening, ask questions and express opinions.

• Coffee & Small groups: Listen, learn, discuss and discover. And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.

Is Alpha for me?

The Alpha course is for everyone! It is especially geared to:

• People interested in investigating Christianity

• Those with questions about the faith and  interested in a short-term small group experience

• New Christians

• Christians who want to brush up on the basics
